Handy dudes have finished and gone.

For $280, today's accomplishments are:

*Entire house, patios, and decks pressure washed. I cannot even begin to describe how much better it looks.
*New door to under the house built, installed, and painted. He'll bring a lock for it tomorrow.
*Broken screens removed, to be repaired by him tonight and returned tomorrow.
*The Land of the Lost that was the front flower boxes are completely cleared.
*Hedges and decorative pines by the front side walk trimmed.
*The smaller scrub pines in the front yard removed and the taller ones trimmed below the 7 foot line.

I also discovered that the pear tree in the backyard has actually produced pears. Must go pick them in a bit.

I *finally* got some resolution from Chase today. The long and the short of it is "yeah the appraiser guy came out, but when he saw it was manufactured he didn't really do the appraisal."

But they're refunding the cost of it.

So now I'm back at square one. Methinks next step will be to call an independent appraiser and get it done - even if I have to do it again, I really want to know roughly what this thing's worth before I get into the refinance process. No matter what company I go through, I'm probably going to have to pay off some part of the principal before I can refinance - so far DiTech had the best offer, at allowing manufactured refinances at 90% of the appraisal value. But even with them, I need to know if it's like $1000 I need to put down or $5000. Hell, if I'm really, really insanely lucky, the house will appraise at like $160,000, and then I can still use Chase and not have to put *anything* additional towards the principal.

But I doubt I'm that lucky.

Time to dig in the phone book for appraisers...

I'm also thinking about writing up the whole saga in [livejournal.com profile] bad_service, because Chase really dropped the ball on this one - I coulda *been* refinanced if they hadn't dragged their asses on getting back to me about the appraisal for so long.

....and of course now I'm not watching House....

stupid fucking TiVo.

If you watch House, you *have* to read this post, which summarizes every episode of House, ever, in about 500 words. I snorted muchly...

After some hassles with figuring out what combination of phone-PDA cradle-wall the PDA was going to be happy with, I have successfully sent my first "migraine log"...which since i didn't have a migraine today, wasn't very exciting.

House episode was decent tonight, but the House-being-nice-to-Cutty bit at the end kinda left me feeling weird. It was too out of character for him. What might have been more in character would have been for him to say all that stuff to someone else, who then somehow inadvertently relayed it to Cutty. House intentionally being "soft," for whatever reason, just doesn't fit well.

And no, I haven't gotten around to emptying the cat litter.

I am thoroughly enjoying catching up on the back episodes of House. I missed quite a few of the early episodes. I don't even remember why I missed them, but it's cool to get some backstory. Yay House.

Holy House

That was the most intense, killer, well-done episode of almost any show I've ever seen. Writer deserves an Emmy, actor who plays House deserves an Emmy. Kickass.
